About Lesson

Paul’s pre-learning for Elite Money Club was to study the 4th Turning together with the psychological profiling.

Strauss and Howell wrote a book “Generations” about the traits of the different generations. Along the way they made a startling discovery about the cyclical nature of generational trends and the economic “seasons” that follow them. We don’t know exactly what each summer or winter will be like exactly but we can clearly identify when to expect each and what plants and animals will do during these times.

First Turning < High

Culturally bland, planning & building, technology advances. Institutional focus, high order, high function.

Second Turning < Awakening

More individualist, children most neglected, cultural and spiritual awakenings.

Third Turning < Unravelling

Pleasure seeking, extreme individualism, fragmented society, pessimism, emphasis shifts back to protecting children.

Fourth Turning < Crisis including the climax of the crisis.

Sparks create a crisis that causes massive reform and centralization of power. Groups, organizations and self-sacrifice are valued during this time.

Understanding that things have moved in these cycles for hundreds of years and that we’re currently in the climax of the crisis gives context to what we see around us.

How you should behave during this time is for you to decide but understanding that these macro conditions exist can help.
