The Hutch

Set on the pure white sandy beach out front of the Uncom Village “The Hutch” is a tip of the hat to a man that is gone but never forgotten. Chris Hutchins or known by the locals as Mr Chris, was the pioneer that came out from Australia in the early 90’s to actually begin developing this area of Vanuatu.

Chris was quite the athlete himself and played AFL for a few seasons before switching his hand to professional golf and then squash. Even into his later years, Chris would still enjoy his fitness and training and would run the hills on the back of Freedom Farm so it is with great honor we name the jungle gym after him.

Everything in the gym is sourced off the island and built with an uncommon level of creative genius. From woven sandbags and ropes to the coconuts filled with concrete and bamboo tib bars and benches, a session here in the Hutch will be one you will never forget (neither will your Instagram followers).

Freedom Farm

Overview

Freedom Farm is a 296-acre parcel of prime farming land that borders the Uncom Village. It is also home to the water storage and solar energy infrastructure plus a unique accommodation offering (campground/bungalows and amenities) that will play host to permanent occupants and visitors.

Production Capacity

Once developed and the infrastructure to handle water, electricity and fencing is in place, the farm will be capable to produce the following:

🐂 Beef – up to 20 head of beef cattle to be butchered yearly (1.5 per month)

🍒 Fruit orchard (matured) – up to 2500 boxes of fruit per year

🚰 Water – 220,000L of stored water replenished daily from well

🏕️ Cabins – up to 30 x 2 bedroom cabins and 50 campground sites with amenities

Stay & Play Future Vision

Freedom Farm will become a global destination to stay, experience, and learn about regenerative agriculture, ancestral and off-grid living, and food preparation and production. It will have the capacity to service 2000 people via the campgrounds every year and play host to a mix of up to 60 temporary and permanent residents in the Freedom Cabins.

Uncom Village

Overview

Uncom Village is all about a like-minded community coming together around the things that they share and value most. 4 acres of training facilities, recovery pools, catering, retreat and event spaces, and accommodation. The village will play host to permanent and live-in and-out residents as well as events, retreats, and visitors from the Freedom Farm.

Capacity & Facilities

Uncom Village will be developed in several stages over the next 36 months

S1 – The Hutch Jungle Gym + First 4 bungalows + power/water infrastructure

S2 – The Jetty + Recreation Centre

S3 – Village accommodation (permanent and short-stay)

S4 – Pools, recovery, events center, and outdoor training

Once stage 4 is completed Uncom Village will be fully functioning and at capacity will be able to host up to 100 people for events and 40 – 60 permanent and semi-permanent residents.
